“We have received so much support from the horror community in this film,” said Epic Pictures Group CEO Patrick Ewald. “Joe Dante and Adam Green and many notable actors came to the set and showed their respect and enthusiasm, even participating in the film with key cameo roles. Asylum Nights

Dark Cinema, A & P Films LLP, and Café Oscuro Films present Asylum Nights, a new film from director and Emmy-award winning makeup artist Dean C. Jones.

Now through January 16, 2015, A & P Films LLP is running an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for Asylum Nights. The funds raised will help the film maintain complete creative control.

In Asylum Nights, Andy Roberts takes over as head physician of the night shift at Evergreen Asylum after his predecessor is found dead. Things turn tragic when a night guard unleashes a wave of violence against the helpless patients. After Andy’s only friend, a night-shift nurse, is slain, he turns to Leon, a gentle giant, for help. Together they set out to stop the violence, but Leon has his own reasons for being in the asylum — and these reasons are just as bloody.

Dean C. Jones, director with A & P Films LLP, said “Asylum Nights can best be described as a mix between One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Seven, and Tod Browning’s Freaks. This film will push on every emotion, and is a rare gem.”

Horror icon and Lon Chaney-award winner, Bill Oberst Jr. (Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies, Criminal Minds, Take this Lollipop, Circus of the Dead) is attached to star in Asylum Nights.

THE ATTICUS INSTITUTE
From a Producer of The Conjuring

The Only Case of Demonic Possession
Recognized by the U.S. Government

AVAILABLE ON DVD AND BLU-RAY™
JANUARY 20, 2015

Anchor Bay Entertainment presents the disturbing new horror thriller THE ATTICUS INSTITUTE, from producer of The Conjuring Peter Safran, available on DVD and Blu-ray™ January 20st, 2015. Written and directed by Chris Sparling (writer of “Buried”) in his directorial debut, THE ATTICUS INSTITUTE stars Rya Kihlstedt (“Dexter”), William Mapother (“Lost”, The Grudge), Harry Groener (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer”), John Rubinstein (“Angel”) and Sharon Maughan (The Bank Job) and was executive produced by Dan Clifton. Special features include “The Making of The Atticus Institute” and deleted scenes.

Dr. Henry West founded The Atticus Institute in the early 1970s to test individuals expressing supernatural abilities – E.S.P., clairvoyance, psychokinesis, etc. Despite witnessing several noteworthy cases, nothing could have prepared Dr. West and his colleagues for Judith Winstead. She outperformed every subject they had ever studied – soon gaining the attention of the U.S. Department of Defense, who subsequently took control of the research facility. The more experiments they conducted on Judith, the clearer it became that her abilities were the manifestation of evil forces within her, prompting the government to take measures to weaponize this force. But they soon discovered there are powers that exist in this world that simply cannot be controlled. Now the details of the inexplicable events that occurred within The Atticus Institute are being made public after rem

New film from Adam Green

Posted in entertainment, Found Footage, Monsters on October 28, 2014 by chrisdsav

New movie from the mind of Adam Green a fellow filmmaker and Horror fan from Holliston Ma the same state as Radio of Horror

Image Entertainment, an RLJ Entertainment (NASDAQ: RLJE) brand, has acquired all U.S. rights to the highly anticipated fantasy film DIGGING UP THE MARROW.  Starring, written and directed by Adam Green and inspired by the artwork of artist Alex Pardee, the film stars Ray Wise (Twin Peaks, X-Men First Class), Will Barratt (Frozen), and a roster full of horror genre favorites and iconic artists all appearing as themselves.  Mark Ward, RLJ Entertainment’s Senior Vice President of Acquisitions for the Image brands made the announcement today.

“We’ve had a long, productive working relationship with Adam Green and we are extremely excited to continue to work with him on this film,” said Ward.  “Adam brings an uncanny point-of-view to filmmaking and DIGGING UP THE MARROW is one that fans of genre films will certainly rally around.”

When filmmaker Adam Green receives a package from a strange man (Ray Wise) claiming he can prove that monsters exist, he and his crew are taken on a mysterious, fantastical, and terrifying journey into the shadows deep down under the ground below our feet. DIGGING UP THE MARROW is a documentary-style film that blends reality with fantasy in a way that will leave even the most hardcore skeptics believing in the existence of monsters.

DIGGING UP THE MARROW is the result of an incredibly rewarding four-year creative collaboration,” said Green.   “It’s a very unique film that doesn’t neatly fit into any specific sub-genre that has come before it.  We’ve been thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive response that MARROW has received at early screenings.”

The monsters in the film are vividly brought to life by visionary American Artist and Trans-Media-Artistry Pioneer, Alex Pardee.  Pardee has showcased his fine art in galleries around the world; acted as an art director for numerous bands (including ‘The Used’ and I’n Flames’); worked with film directors such as Quentin Tarantino and Edgar Wright on art-based-marketing campaigns; and provided extensive artwork for director Zack Snyder’s “Sucker Punch.  In 2007, Alex co-founded “ZEROFRIENDS,” an art and apparel company that he is currently the Creative Director of.

Paranormal ……Stuff

Posted in Found Footage, ghosts, movies, news, Places, Satan, SciFi, tv on September 8, 2014 by chrisdsav

I am not sure if this is part of a series or what but we recently viewed this docucumentry film about a group of filmmakers who go to Clophill Bedfordshire and try to look into the story of the haunted run down church that was used to practice Black Masss, witch craft Satan worship and other things that go bump in the night, you know like that song with Ozzy Osbourne. From the people who made the Zombie Diaries (not to be confused with Diary of the Living Dead by George Romero) comes Paranormal Diaries: Clophill a movie made by a England Paranormal ghost hunter Kevin Gates. Now I assume this is going to be part of a series of films. These are real paranormal investigators so this movie is more document than horror movie scare fest with found footage lazy film making. The movie comes from Image Entertainment and Pam and I watched it last night. Now hot on the heels of the worn out franchise Paranormal Activity we get another of these paranormal films. Here is a link to some video footage of the supposed caught on camera ghost or lens flare.

It seems like the only two kinds of Horror movies, demon or ghost movies. This is all we have seen from the Horror genre besides remakes over the last few years, we get a LOT of direct to dvd movies which should be put in theaters NATION WIDE, like The Only Lovers left alive, Maniac(yes a remake but a remake BELOVED by people), Kiss of the Damned, In Fear, and more. For every film like Sinister or The Conjuring that does well you get another crappy Paranormal Activity movie or The Devil Inside or Devils Due. I am getting board with every to do with it.

The first guest I ever interviewed for Radio of Horror back in October 2007 at the Rock and Shock Convention was on the behest of my wife Steve from Ghost Hunsters and it was the most boring interview ever one line answers and very little to say about the show it self. It was recently announced he was returning to the show on syfy channel.

If your really into this genre of filmmaking and love the Ghost Hunter shows then check it out, if you pick it up expecting a horror movie based on the cover its not a horror movie.
