Sandman Revealed
Posted in Comic Books, Monsters, news, Uncategorized with tags Comic Book, DC comics, Horror, Supernatural on August 16, 2017 by chrisdsavMAJOR DARK NIGHTS THE METAL SPOILER AHEAD READ AT YOUR OWN RISK
Have you ever read Sandman you really need to give it read some time one of the best gothic Supernatural comics ever and no I don’t mean from the tv show. Morpheus also know as DREAM is one of the super powers mystical God’s of the DC Universe. He fought many a great nightmare creatures trying to steal his power. The writing was so amazing by Neil Gaiman with a rotating cast of artists. Once during Grant Morrison run on JLA he appeared in the book but that was his successor Daniel. Death his sister would appear to Lex Luther in 2011. As readers of The Sandman may recall, Dream is actually Daniel Hall, the successor to Morpheus, the original star of that series
It had been asked several times if Vertigo titles had appeared in DC regular continuity and with what happened in DC Rebirth #1 last year and Superman Reborn and Batman/Flash The Button a few months ago with Dr.Manhatten and the Watchmen it seems as Vertigo universe is bleeding they to ours. Now with the last page of the Metal #1 revealing Dream of The Endless it seems the rebirth is mergering it or it always has been when Manhattan formed the new 52 6 years ago.
I recommend picking up The Sandman Overture by Gaiman and JH Williams III and Dave Stewart as well as Sandman vol 1-10 of the original Vertigo 90s series.

Mini Reviews Part 3-D Zombie Edition
Posted in Uncategorized with tags Horror, Movies, Nazi, zombies on February 17, 2015 by chrisdsavThere are no 3-D movies in this list of mini reviews but points to you if you can guess why I put that in there,
Dead Snow 1, and 2 Red vs Dead
I finally had a chance to see this trapped in the snow on Saturday afternoon with a friend before setting off for the 40th Anniversary of the Sci-fi Film fest in Somerville.
In the first movie a group of friends head to a cabin dig up some old Nazi gold and have to deal with a Zombie Army rising up. This movie has a plot similar to Pirates of the Caribean Curse fo the Black Perl. The Gold is cursed and the only way to stop the Zombies is by giving back the gold. The survivor learsn this too late cuts off his arm and then has the Zombie leader arm grafted to him. This helps the plot of part two tho as he is able to raise an army of dead Russians and with the help of a group of American ZOmbie hunters they turn the tide of battle and defeat the Nazis. The ability to raise the dead with a new power that each Herzog the leader of the Nazis and Martin our hero. It has a lot of laughs and is more horror than humor I would skip the last 5 mins of the ending to Red vs Dead its not worth watching and disgusting. Its great to see something done unique with Zombies. Even though we have seen Nazi Zombies before in video Games there are not that many films doing anything with them.
Both movies were directed by Tommy Wirkola, who also directed Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters.
Zombie Killers: Elephant GraveYard
DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE, I watched the first half and that was too much what a boring and uninteresting attempt at trying to be the Walking Dead. I interviewed the Director Harrison Smith, and he said he pleaded with the studio to reconsider and make something else. He thought the genre was too over saturated and his movie would be lost. If they made this 10 years ago , it would have been perfect timing.
The Battery
Another movie I recomend you avoiding, uninteresting and you get 40 mins of guys by themselves doing nothing but arguing and bitching and acting like children. I tried to like the characters and find some interest in this Zombie crap fest from Scream Factory, but alas I could not.

THE RETURN OF JOE DANTE
Posted in Uncategorized with tags Movies, News, zombies on February 3, 2015 by chrisdsavThe director of Gremlins 1& 2 and The Howling had a rough few years he tried to get a movie done on kick starter and failed ( so did I, good to know I am in good company lol) But he’s back and with what looks like a great horror comedy check out the press release below.
Image Entertainment, an RLJ Entertainment (NASDAQ: RLJE) brand, has acquired all U.S. rights to the highly-anticipated horror comedy from renowned director Joe Dante. Written by Alan Trezza (TV’s “Sanctuary”), BURYING THE EX stars Anton Yelchin (ODD THOMAS, FRIGHT NIGHT), Ashley Greene (TWILIGHT) and Alexandra Daddario (TV’s “True Detective”). The film, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, is expected to be released in theaters and on VOD in the summer of 2015. Mark Ward, RLJ Entertainment’s Senior Vice President of Acquisitions for the Image brands, made the announcement today.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with legendary filmmaker Joe Dante,” said Ward. “He brings a unique vision and style to BURYING THE EX. We are confident that his fans and the genre community will embrace the film.”
BURYING THE EX follows Max (Anton Yelchin), an all-around nice guy, and his overbearing but incredibly beautiful girlfriend, Evelyn (Ashely Greene). Their relationship takes a nosedive after they decide to move in together and Evelyn turns out to be a controlling, manipulative nightmare. Max realizes it’s time to call it quits, but there’s just one problem: he’s too afraid to break up with her. Fate steps in when Evelyn is involved in a freak accident and dies, leaving Max single and ready to mingle. Several weeks later, he has a chance encounter with Olivia (Alexandra Daddario), a cute and spirited girl who just might be his soul mate. But that same night, Evelyn returns from the grave as a dirt-smeared Zombie and she’s determined to live happily ever after with Max …
Produced by Mary Cybriwsky (MIDNIGHT MAN), Carl Effenson (HIDE AWAY), David Johnson (THE PEOPLE SPEAK), Frankie Lindquist (REACH ME), Kyle Tekiela (A SISTER’S CAL) and Alan Trezza, the deal was negotiated by Mark Ward on behalf of RLJE/Image Entertainment and Cassian Elwes, CAA and Voltage Pictures on behalf of the filmmakers

Movie Review: Houses October Built (2014)
Posted in Uncategorized on October 15, 2014 by chrisdsavPam reviews The House that October Built we had the director on the show last weeend
A real documentary about 5 friends who set out to uncover the culture of underground haunted houses. Brandy Schaefer, Mikey Roe, Bobby Roe, Zack Andrews and Jeff Larsen are longtime friends who set out in an RV to 9 different haunts. Interviews are not scripted or manipulated in anyway, and the truth is more horrifying than the lie in this flick. People running haunted horror events notoriously don’t run background checks… some of the things participants say are down right deviant and terrifying. There are multiple actual news reports related about people dying in haunted houses while pranking their friends and no one knows until long after the night’s over.
The crew travels across Texas in search of the most frightening events October has to offer. Along the way, they hit up all types of attractions (including zombie paintball) …and then they go in search of the Holy Grail of…

Supernatural Season 10
Posted in Uncategorized with tags Deomns, Ghosts, Monsters, News, TV on September 10, 2014 by chrisdsavWe are weeks away from the return of the adventures of Sam and Dean WInchester. On Oct 7th. As well as Crowley and Castiel who have joined the cats this season. As we left the show Dean died and became a Demon, now what kind of demon he has become who knows. We have the 200 episode of the show coming up which is going to be a musical. Beyond that we don’t have many other details from season 10 most likely trying to keep the Demon Dean story line under wraps. I found out recently that Mark Shepard who plays Crowley will be at the RI Comic Con in November.
Season 9 just came on blu ray and dvd , contains a great detail view of the Men of Letters bunker going thru the various items in the bunker. This was introduced in Season 8 and acts like a new home for the boys after Bobbies place was destroyed by Dick Roman in Season 7. My favorite episode of this season is Dog Dean Afternoon where Dean gets the ability to talk to dogs and other animals its hilarious, The one episode that a lot of people had problems with guest started Felica Day as the Lesbian Hack Geek Charlie, It had a Wizard of Oz elements to it and honestly was not that bad.
Below is a video showing the then and now of the whole show

The Exorcist Revisited!
Posted in Uncategorized on June 19, 2013 by chrisdsavCheck out my friends Skip views on this great film celebrating 40 years.
It was 40 years ago today that William Friedken’s “The Exorcist” premiered.
The original 1973 production was bay far the best. Years later with deleted scenes added it made the possession of Regan seem less random. But it was the notion that is was so random that it could be any of us that made it so frightening.
This would make a terrific double feature with Fulci’s “Don’t Torture a Duckling”
There seems to be a theme with movies about the Catholic Church, children and evil…
