A book referenced in so many different incarnations of Ghostbusters is the Tobin Spirit Guide. It’s written by John Horace Tobin a paranormal investigator who didn’t make any cartoon or movie appearance but did appear in the Now and IDW comic books. This is not going to be a review about how great this book is because you already know that part, but just letting you knew where each of these ghosts appear. A detailed list of mush of their first appearances and what issues or movie or comics or game to find them in. You can purchase the book at your local bookstore like The Book Cellar www.bookcellaronline.com or from www.insighteditions.com

Ed and Loraine Warren Con Men or Demon Hunters

Posted in ghosts, museum, news with tags , on June 21, 2016 by chrisdsav

Some of their cases are fabricated some are real who knows I was not there to witness or judge the poor widow ( Ed died in 2006)  who charges 167 a person to come to her house and stare at a Raggedy Anne Doll in her Ghostbusters museum. She is famous she is well known in the paranormal investigation community, Her house has a museum and you can see all the cursed objects there.

Article I came across about the Warrens who are featured in the Hollywood Movie The Conjuring 2 now out in theaters (Blackstone Valley Cinema Delux in Millbury Ma is where I saw mine)

Dr.Chris Record Spotlight :Friday the 13th Part 2

Posted in 80s, Friday the 13th, horror, music, Reviews, vinyl on June 20, 2016 by chrisdsav

It’s summer time what better season to cover a FRIDAY THE 13TH album. This is the only one I been able to snag and all my vinyl reviews  are only going to cover records I actually  own. Until I obtain it I won’t review it. Here we have a single disk album in blue with this red tie dye blood splatter on it for when it spins it gives it this cool effect. The album comes from Wax work records and music composed by Harry Manfredini who is returning for the Friday the 13th video game soundtrack. The art work all around the cardboard sleeve is by Rich Kelly. His artwork has this rich cokic book style to it as evident in the gatefold image you see below. I would compare this of course to the original score so you get that same eerie dreading pulse pouring rhythm you come to expect from these films.

I recommend picking it up Wax Works says it’s sold out on their site but you can find the soundtrack to Part 3 on their site.

Tonight on the show we have Randy one of the developers behind The Friday the 13th Video Game on the show with us. I met him at Pax East 2016 and been a backer of the game on kickstarter since last year. We also have the developers of Zombie Vikings and My Night Job. it’s a huge night of Video Game interviews. We may have a chance to squeeze in a song or two as well. I just picked up on vinyl Alice Cooper’s Welcome to my Nightmare and look for my new vinyl review later this week.

Resident EVII : Biohazard

Posted in Horror Survival News, Monsters, Mutants, news, Video Games, websites with tags , , on June 14, 2016 by chrisdsav

Bio hazard was the name was the name of the franchise in Japan and now they are using it as the subtitle for the new game very interesting. Resident Evil 7 is a first person perspective that looks like its going back to its horror roots at long last after the last two game were so heavy on action. The connection to the rest of the franchise is yet to be seen. Who the person  SHE is refereed too is unknown. The creepy song played in the trailer is

You can hear the lyrically-tweaked version of the folk song Go Tell Aunt Rhody in the Resident Evil 7 debut trailer above. While the song plays, men explore a dilapidated plantation, haunting images flash onscreen and a wolf’s head decays in seconds. the song was originally recorded by Burl Ives.

Most Excellent

WOW may not be Horror but sometimes after covering so much horror you need a little comedy sci-fi from the 80’s and what better way to do that than with none other than BILL AND TED EXCELLENT ADVENTURE. As well as the sequel where they encounter Death ….Bogus

Check out the press release for more details.

Read on for all the details and head over to ShoutFactory.com to pre-order your copy!

From the Press Release:
Excellent! History’s favorite time traveling duo land on September 20, 2016 in a deluxe Blu-ray box set from Shout! Factory titled Bill & Ted’s Most Excellent Collection. The bodacious set includes Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, the Blu-ray debut of the sequel Bogus Journey, and is fully loaded with an entire disc of bonus features, including new interviews and commentary, deluxe packaging, a “Wyld Stallyns” branded guitar pick, vinyl stickers for both films, and previously released extras including The Original Bill & Ted, The Most Triumphant Making-Of, Air Guitar Tutorial, The Linguistic Stylings of B&T, From Scribble to Script, The Hysterical Personages of B&T, and radio spots.

Shout! Factory will also have a limited edition set complete with an exclusive lithograph and exclusive action figure of George Carlin’s character “Rufus,” available on shoutfactory.com beginning June 7. NECA, which created the figure, will also have a Bill & Ted action figure set available in July 2016.

The biggest concern for Bill S. Preston, Esq. (Alex Winter) and Ted “Theodore” Logan (Keanu Reeves), two totally excellent dudes from San Dimas, California, has been that their band, the Wyld Stallyns, “will never be a super band until we have Eddie Van Halen on guitar.” But now they’re on the verge of failing history class, and Ted’s father is threatening him with military school. To keep the Wyld Stallyns together, and save the future, they need to deliver an epic history report, so a messenger named Rufus (George Carlin) arrives in a time traveling phone booth to help them out. As they travel through history they pick up some new friends, like the “Bodacious Philosopher” Socrates, “One Very Excellent Barbarian” Genghis Khan, the “Short Dead Dude” Napoleon and “Noah’s Wife” Joan of Arc, and put on one outrageous presentation.

In the sequel Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, the daffy duo travel to Heaven, Hell and points in between as they meet robot versions of themselves, Albert Einstein, the Easter Bunny, and beat the Grim Reaper at a video game. Bogus Journey features an all-star cast including Keanu Reeves (The Matrix), Alex Winter, George Carlin, William Sadler (The Shawshank Redemption), and Pam Grier (Jackie Brown). At the time of its release, Roger Ebert described the film as “a riot of visual invention and weird humor that works on its chosen sub-moronic level, and on several others as well, including some fairly sophisticated ones.” In other words, not bogus at all, dudes.

The Exclusive Limited Edition Set Contains:

  • An exclusive, limited edition 8″ tall Rufus action figure by NECA
  • An exclusive, limited edition 18″ x 24″ lithograph of the newly-designed art from artist Paul Shipper (this lithograph will ship rolled, in a poster tube)
  • Two 6″ x 4″ Bill & Ted stickers
  • A Wild Stallyns guitar pick
  • Early shipping to arrive two weeks before the national street date
