Huge News broke about ALIEN DAY. named after the planet in the movie Alien and Aliens LV 426. There is a ton of great stuff coming out that day and we have the list below. the coolest item has to be the Reebok Alien stomper sneakers.

 

The Alamo Drafthouse, meanwhile, will celebrate Alien Day by producing a nationwide screening program on April 26th that returns the Alien franchise to theaters across the country. In over 20 cities, including Austin, New York, Los Angeles and Dallas, participating Alamo locations as well as partner venues will showcase a double-feature presentation of Alien and Aliens. In Alamo locations, each pre-ordered ticket includes a Mondo-designed Alien T-shirt, released exclusively for the event screenings. Additionally, the screenings will be accompanied by exclusive Alien merchandise—including apparel, accessories, posters and records—from pop-culture company Mondo. Tickets go on sale now.

Other Alien products arriving/being revealed for Alien Day include:

– NECA‘s first ever Lieutenant Vasquez (Jenette Goldstein) and Newt (Carrie Henn) figures as well as the release of a Kenner toy-Inspired Ellen Ripley figure

– Loot Crate will launch a limited-edition Aliens 30th Anniversary crate on 4/26 filled with exclusive merchandise, collectibles and more from all core licensee partners

– Japan-based toy company Medicom Toy will release a VCD (vinyl super deformed) Alien figure and a retro style Aliens figure via Diamond Comics

– USAopoly will launch a pair of classic board games with a twist: Yahtzee Alien vs Predator and Clue: Alien vs Predator

– Hollywood Collectibles will release a large-scale model of the Derelict from Alien, molded from an original model that H.R. Giger created for an exhibition in Las Vegas

Of course, it’s also a pretty safe bet that Alien Day will bring us some news tied to Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien: Covenant. Set to star Michael Fassbender, Demian Bichir, Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Jussie Smolett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez and Ben Rigby, Alien: Covenant hits the big screen August 4, 2017. Check back for updates as they become available.

Friday the 13th New Release date

This is the third release date in 2 years for this franchise reboot.

We get the video game this coming October which is awesome and I will have a review of asap.

Dr.Chris Record Spotlight The Batman Superman Animated Series

With Batman vs Superman The Dawn of Justice in theaters now I thought it be a great time to look at two of the oddest records in joy collection.

We spotlight two records today both from the DC Animated Universe otherwise known as the Timm verse. Named after co creator Bruce Timm. With music by Danny Elfman  and the late  Shirley Jones. The music in the tv show really capture the dark gothic tones of the Batman Animated series more than any other I have experienced Mondo Records released a Batman Vinyl record in the shape of the Bat symbol in honor of the character’s  75th Anniversary. I didn’t get a chance to grab one before they sold out, but was able to get one of the comic con villain records. Clay Face comes on a tiny 33 with the record itself looking like the villain from the show. Each of the major Batman villains got one Mr.Freeze, Joker, Harley Quinn, Penguin and Riddler. Well at least 6 if his villains did. They contain the music from just the show it self opening and ending credits nothing else. The extended version of this theme can be found online it roughly 2 mins long. I was a bit disappointed in how few tracks were on this album.

A year later Mondo released the Superman Animated score on a record cut like the shield on his chest. Hey released a Superman snd Bizarro variet. I picked up the Bizarro version just because of how cool it looks with the back ward S. The thing with this one is you play the record from the inside out. Any record I have come across you play the record as normal from the out side in. This trick will only work on records with out auto play, it must be done manually.

The Superman vinyl contains the opening and end credits to Superman the Animated Series as well as the opening and end credits to the Adventures of Batman and Superman. This was the new title of both shows from 1997-1999.

The Mondo release of Superman can still be found on their site the Batman record you will have to hunt down on ebay to obtain.

Comic Book Spotlight: Vampire Batman

Just in time for the upcoming Batman vs Superman movie Dawn of Justice I thought I do a comic book character profile on a time when Batman fought Count Dracula and only won at the cost of his own soul. On THE Batman cartoon series they made a direct to dvd movie under the same name which was very cool and on the episode of Batman The Animated Series in the episode Tales of the Dark Night one of the kids even suggests Batman is a Vampire, I heard rumors we might have gotten an Animated Vampire Batman micro short but the network put a kibosh on it very quickly.

This was one of those comics that eluded me for many years as a child and I always wanted to read it. My father grew up in an era where he was taught COMIC BOOKS=BAD. SO it was hard to be a collector til I became an Adult.

Three volumes by Writer Doug Moench, Artist Kelley Jones, Inkers (vol1)Malcolm Jones III and (vol2&3) John Beatty were made about a darker horror story than anything the mainstream DC comics could show us at the time. Taking place in the Elseworlds Multiverse.

BATMAN & DRACULA: RED RAIN

Batman is visited by a woman int he middle of the night named Tanya who bites him and over the course of the issue teams up with her to take down the Dark Prince. Tanya and a group of other good Vampires fight Dracula’s legions and at the cost of Wayne Manor which Batman destroys to cause a cave in on the Batcave he is able to wipe out Dracula’s forces. He defeats Dracula and Tanya dies but leaves him with a gift. Batman suffers a fatal loss of blood and has a funeral as Bruce Wayne  and only Alfred and Commissioner Gordon know the truth that he has been transformed into a Vampire. He rises a full fledged Vampire. It seems as though even though Tanya forced the curse of Vampirism on Bruce she knew it was a tool he would need to fight a greater evil in Gotham city.

BATMAN: BLOODSTORM

Batman with his new Vampire powers continues to search the streets of Gotham for remaining Vampires and the normal criminal scum that plague his city. Batman has to fight a blood lust he can barley control. Werewolves have come to Gotham city and the Joker returns. A wolf attacks Selina Kyle turning her into a creature of the night her self a Werecat. Not sure how that works. DO you become a Were creature based on your spirit animal. HEr and Batman meet and she becomes a quick ally and lover to him. Giving him comfort and aid that no one else could. Showing even in this elseworlds Universe Bruce and Selina are meant for each other.  Batman looks for a way to perfect Tanya’s serum which allowed her to push off the blood thirst she has. The Joker tries taking advantage of a Gotham who is more afraid of Batman than its own criminals and kills Catwoman as she protects Batman and Batman kills the Joker. In doing so breaking his two rules killing another and using his Vampire powers to do it. Killing Vampires is one thing they are already dead. He has Alfred and Gordon drive a stake through his heart.

BATMAN: CRIMSON MIST

The next story takes place several years later Gotham is a mess with Scarecrow Twoface Penguin and Killer Croc running all over the police. Alfred takes it upon himself to do the only sensible thing he can think of and bring back Batman. He pulls the stake out and Batman is furious that Alfred didn’t take off his head which would have prevented his resurrection. He goes on a rampage thru Gotham killing one criminal after another with no remorse cutting their heads off so that return from the dead. Alfred and Gordon help Two Face team up with Killer Croc to put an end to Batman. Batman is given blood by Alfred to live after taking a arrow tot he chest by Two Face and is killed Gordon is saved from Killer Croc and Two Face who betray him. Then he sets off a bomb killing him self and Bruce steps into the light disintegrating himself.

Now we get two more stories with the Crimson Mist Batman as he is come to be known as. During the Convergence event with Swamp Thing they have a two issue story arc in which they must fight for one of their worlds to continue existing. and during the Countdown to Final Crisis we learn about Dick Grayson Robin is never rescued from the circus by Bruce and is raised by Tony Zucco to be an assassin. He fights and is killed by Batman.

The art is amazing and has had me hooked on Jones style ever since. He currently works on the new Swamp Thing comic. His style fits Horror comics perfectly. We got a Crimson Mist Batman action figure a few years ago which I did snatch as soon as I saw it on the toy shelves.

THE UNDEAD ARE A JOKE

My first novel is finally complete. I started on this book back in 2012, and it’s finally completed.Why did it take so long to get here. Being lazy really can stop your book. Don’t be lazy get off your fat ass and publish your book. DON’T DELAY!!

Depression really put a stop to this book and procrastinating and other things. This book does end on a cliff hanger so there will be more books. I hope the next book will be out by next year.

Its about a vampire video game developer. He is on quest to get his new game developed in time for the big gaming convention contest. All the while dealing with a murder mystery and the supernatural forces around him.

Bride of Re-Animator

Awesome Bride is getting a huge release in April, the dvd was a bare bones release many many years ago. I am so glad its getting its justice. I reported on this from Arrow’s site on my facebook page but here it the full report now.

 

The success of Stuart Gordon’s hit horror-comedy Re-Animator meant that a sequel was all but inevitable.
