The Old Spaghetti Factory

For many Canadians, especially in British Columbia, it’s a fairly well known fact that the Old Spaghetti Factory in Vancouver is haunted. So as the Canadian co-host I feel that it is my job to tell our viewers about all the weird events that have taken place there over the years.

Now, there are supposedly four ghosts that haunt the Old Spaghetti Factory. The first is an unknown little girl. She is best known for sitting by the front window holding a balloon. One time a friend of the general manager was in the restaurant and he had a conversation with her that lasted for several minutes. The little girl told him that she was looking for her mother. Naturally he went to tell the manager, but by the time they returned the girl was gone.

The second(and best known) ghost is the spirit of a tram conductor. The conductor is known to frequent the old trolley car that is parked inside the restaurant. The trolley was built in New Westminister in 1904. It was once part of the B.C Electric Railway companys fleet of electric trams and served as public transit in and around Vancouver for years. The trolley was decommissioned in 1957 and installed in the building in 1969 during the set up of the restaurant. Now it sits in the restaurant filled with dining tables and chairs for guests to eat in.

It’s up for debate whether the conductors spirit came with the trolley or not. There are some who say he died in a collision on an underground railroad below the restaurant. However, that is highly unlikely as Vancouvers trolley cars all ran street level and the building itself has no historical connection with the B.C Electric Railway Company. That being said, most assume the ghost came with the tram car.

Regardless of his orgin, many staff member have seen the conductor. He will always appear sitting at the same dining table in the tram car late at night after closing. Staff members have also noticed place settings mysteriously move inside the tram car as well as inexplicable cold spots.

The third ghost is a young boy. In 2012 he scared the crap out of some poor female server. She was in the back section closing up for the night and while setting tables she saw a boy run past her to the very back. She obviously thought it was strange so she followed him. The little boy had ran behind a table along the back wall, turned, and looked up at her. Nobody knows exactly what she saw when he looked up at her, but it was obviously terrifying. The poor girl ran to the front to tell the manager and quit on the spot.

After that incident a psychic came in and was able to identify the boy as “Edward”. She also pointed out that there was apparently a vortex located at the back of the resturaunt. A vortex is essentially a portal to other dimensons that allows spirits to come to our world. Some people believe they are linked to Earth’s electromagnetic fields and that influences where they’re located as well as when they open or close. The psychic also claimed that several small artifacts decorating the restaurant have spirits attached to them.

Edward is also thought to be responsible for bending cutlery on tables in the back of the restaurant. One night during close a staff member walked through the back area to make sure that the place settings had been properly laid out. That staff member, as well as a few others, saw that each cutlery item on one of the tables was bent upwards. By the time they were able to get a manager to check it out, it was all back to normal. He also sometimes puts a chair on top of a table for staff to find in the morning.

The fourth and final ghost is my personal favourite. He is a small, mischievous spirit with red hair known as the “Little red man”. He is known to call out staff members names and stroll through the kitchen.

His favourite prank is to surprise ladies in the womens washroom. One time two ladies were in the washroom and theysaw a dwarvish man leave one of the stalls dressed in a red shirt and long johns. After laughing at their reactions, he left the washroom. After asking around, the ladies discovered that nobody else had seen him leave. One of the women had apparently taken his picture. However, when she had the film developed, he was a blur. Nobody knows who this man is or why he haunts the Old Spaghetti Factory, but one thing is obvious. This ghost definitely has a good sense of humor.

So those are the four ghosts of the Old Spaghetti Factory in Vancouver, British Columbia. If you’re feeling brave and would like to visit, check out their website for the location and phone number. http://www.oldspaghettifactory.ca

Hi every one hope people are reading this

We need a new co-host, we meaning ME…Chris the Host of Radio of Horror since October 2007. I need a new cohost badly its getting to the point I CANT do the show alone any more.

I had a co-host for two years and we got along most of the time. I really need someone who can help with social media and videos and getting new guests, writing new content and blog posts. I would like to expand the you tube channel in a lot of ways and I can’t do it alone. If you or someone you know can help that be great. I am going to continue searching in the New England area for a cohost. Now a Female cohost would be great cuz I would love to get the woman’s perspective on the horror industry and she can bring a unique voice to the show.

If you know of someone please pass this message along to them …thanks.

KATUNAR

Posted in Canada, ghosts, Horror Movies, Kosovo, locations on December 15, 2014 by chrisdsav

Kosovo might be known for war and strife, but Ventress plans to change the just over 5 year old country with an Albanian/English feature film which will have the Republic of Kosovo known more for presenting a popcorn thriller, than Europe’s poorest country with a 45% unemployment rate.

KATUNAR (ka-toon-ar) is the first horror feature to be made in Kosovo.  Canadian director Dion Ventress brings to the screen a small town suspense thriller.

After finding out of the passing of her father, Adelina returns back to Kosovo and finds she’s inherited her father’s home in Kaçanik.  On her return, she not only deals with paranormal activity in the home, doors that don’t open, and a mysterious legend of people living in caves since the war in a cliff on the edge of town.  Once people start disappearing, Adelina has to figure out what is real and what is myth.

From the Director:

“My name is Dion Ventress and have worked in film and television production in Canada for over two decades.  In the television aspect of my career, I have worked from home shopping, to Canadian network news, to sports, and also launching the first streaming superstation at a time when the only things that were being streamed was WORLD OF WARCRAFT and religious sermons. Television forced me to work on tight budgets and timelines, which translated into my own productions (music videos and home video documentaries). Having one of Canada’s most eclectic private film archives (of 16mm, 8mm, and 35mm), this also had taken me to four different countries, and involved with helping bring other features into the Toronto film marketplace including the only 35mm 3-D polarized feature from the 90’s to Canadian audiences.

Having a taste for global music, I started being introduced to Albanian pop, and ended up going to Kosovo in 2008 with profits I had made from a successful film tour of Finland.

Through meeting various people in Kosovo’s media industry, I was impressed with the talent in the country, and technically what could be pulled off.  I was asked by a company years later to work on a script for an action film.  Sadly the company folded, and I returned last year to investigate how possible it was to do a feature film in the country.  Technically, could it be possible?

This could be the next great horror movie who knows stay tuned for more information.

Black Friday Horror

Posted in horror, locations, Monsters, tv, Video Games on November 28, 2014 by chrisdsav

Working Black Friday the most dreaded fucking shopping day of the year. It can be mad crazy but some times you can find a lot of great deals. I picked up Wolfenstein the new order on X box 360 and the first two seasons of Grimm very very cheap. If you buy a PS4 you get Grand Theft Auto V and The Last of Us. A very cool deal.

Its not all horror unless your trying to kill each other over deals then you need to grow the fuck up.

Check this out Best Buy has every season of Supernatural on sale for 9.99.
