Neon Genesis Evangelion
Posted in Anime/Manga, Cartoons, robots, sci-fi on February 8, 2016 by chrisdsavAt my local Bestbuy I learned Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.33 had been released on blu ray and I had to obtain the next chapter in the enhanced anime series. First though I thought I share with you a memory flash back.
I was going thru my local flea market in Charlton MA back in 2004 and on a table were the first 6 vol of an anime show I had only seen commercials for and heard very little about. I decided to take a chance after several conversations with other anime fans who told me I was missing out.
I snatched up all 6 after making a deal with the vendor, and it exposed me to the most adult giant robot show of all time. I hunted down the other remaining vol to finish the show. I never got into the manga in which its based on.
3 young pilots living in post apocalyptic Japan pilot giant robots called Eva to defend their country against demonic looking creatures with so much mystery and intriguing plot points you can see why it’s such a beloved show. The main character Shinji lives in this harem style plot line in his apartment where he is the only male living with three gorgeous woman two teenage girls snd his handler. All the while his father is the head of the Eva program and is as much a father figure as Darth Vader was.
The reason I bring it up on Radio of Horror is its the darkest anime sci fi show I have ever watched. Yes there is horror shows and Demon rape shows like hentai. But look at the over all flowing stpry narative of this one snd really get a sence of a foreboding snd Sinister plot.
Now recently the show has been released in these movie formats sets called 1.11 2.22 and 3.33. They condense the shows bigger plot points into movies that might be easier for the average viewer to handel.
This is enhanced by superior animation and graphic touch up with CGI being used to enhance the special effects.
3.33 You can not redo Is the newest Editon out now and if you never watched the show or were very confused by it’s story telling I recommend this set.

I will be at the Hartford Comic Con this weekend. If your from CT come on down buy a ticket. As I have at previous conventions we will be raising money for a charity. The Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston Massachusetts saved my son’s life 8 years ago and he continues being a patient there doing yearly check ups. We will be giving away prizes such as posters, t shirts, books, comics, DVDs and blu rays, and other assorted items from the horror industry. I will have my lovely assistant Elena Ferrari with me to help at the convention.
I may or may not have a show this weekend……live. Radio of Horror will still be on the air with past interviews and more.
Don’t forget to check us out on Facebook and our youtube channel for past interviews.
Chappiy Wong Cosplayer

If you have not played the game yet this may confuse you. Its been out since last September and is worth checking out. The game is from the creator of Resident Evil.
Here are is a picture below and you can check out their Tumbler Page for more.
Bayonetta
Posted in Adult, Anime/Manga, Demons, Horror Babes, Monsters, Video Games, witches on April 4, 2015 by chrisdsavSega in 2010 launched what would become the female equivalent of Devil May Cry. A Gothic action adventure beat em up with horror roots and insane over the top game play.
Bayonetta was a huge success on the Xbox 360 and PS 3 and has returned for Bayonetta 2 on the Nintendo WiiU. As of this writing B2 has garnered more positive reviews than a lot of the games on the WiiU. Surprising as its a Sega game on a Nintendo console. Please understand that joke. Bayonetta goes to hell and heaven to resurrect a friend who falls in battle. No longer on a quest to find her forgotten memories she and her friends from the previous game like the photographer Luca and the bartender at the Gates of Hell forge forward with weird powers and a more story driven narrative. She once again has a kid sidekick this time a young boy named Loki….a trickster….hmmmm.
Packed with it is the original game on a separate disk.
Bayonetta is as adult and wickedly funny as she was before, the game is a hard core M rating with semi nudity in every scene and Bayonetta yelling FUCK YOU when she hits an enemy, Princess Zelda, Peach and Toadstool would never be written so charming. Samus is the closet thing I would say to match Bayonetta attitude but that’s still not on the same level of mature content.
The game play is so insane its more fun to die and let yo replay the level so you can capture what is going on in the game. Button mashing has become a video game staples thanks to the God of War series. You go too the Gates of Hell bar to level up and get new over the top combos.
Sega is unapologetic in the way she handles her sexuality. (To promote the game they teamed up with Playboy Playmate Pamela Horton to cosplay as the character both clothed and nude.)
She has many crotch shots and twists her body in ways that would make a porn star proud. Its funny the first game came out right after a certain presidential candidate from Alaska was running for VP. Also the porno of Sarah Palin mixed with Tina Feys portrayal of her on Saturday Night Live, I think had some influence on her design …..but I may be wrong. This game series may offend some people but this is not for every one. Many critics praise the game for being fun and do point out the over the top sexual nature if it.
Anita Sarkeesian as usual hated the series
She said and I quote “Everything about Bayonetta design is for the pleasure of straight male games, I’m disappointed no one has covered her outrages over sexualized attitude.” Anita GAY WOMAN love this series too, I was happy to meet them at Pax East this year. She really attacked the series and once again finds nothing positive to say about it. Japanese based game company made a game like an anime character is no surprise. I enjoyed the game more than Lollypop Chainsaw which I didn’t like and thought was a terrible game.
Leigh Alexander of Gamasutra said “I really like Bayonetta personally feminism doesn’t mean woman’s bodies are bad. It upsets me when I’m told covering my body is what I should be live in.”
Those are two female industry experts on the series. For me its fun and a great game series to play.
Recently there was a Bayonetta Anime movie from Funimation released.
http://www.funimation.com/shows/bayonetta-bloody-fate/home
Bloody Fire it’s the story from the first game animated from the developers of Afro Samurai. The movie is available on blu-ray only but comes with a DVD. If your in the Boston Area this weekend the company that makes this movie Funimation will be set up at the annual Anime Boston Event.
Helena Taylor voices Bayonetta in both games and the anime movie. Her sharp tongue, mixed with her British accent give the personality needed for this type of character.
We waited almost five years between games, I hope we don’t have to wait another five for the sequel.
Anime Boston 2015
Posted in Anime/Manga, Comic Books, Conventions, sci-fi on April 1, 2015 by chrisdsavEver been to Anime Boston its a 3 day con that happens every year in down town I usually make it every other year and have a lot of fun. Witchblade the Anime and TV show
Posted in Anime/Manga, Cartoons, Comic Books, entertainment, Goth, horror, Horror Babes, horror/sci-fi cartoon, Monsters, SciFi on November 13, 2014 by chrisdsavBack before all we had was X-men the movie and Blade we didn’t have the bevy of Comic Book mayhem we have today. No Walking Dead or Arrow. We were two years away from Smallvile and Spider-man really exploding the media of Superheroes.
In 2000 we got Witchblade the made for TV movie and then two season over the summer on TNT, staring Yancy Butler. The show and movie came out on DVD a few years back and really is worth checking out. It ended on a cliff hanger as do most shows that get canceled before they were suppose too.
It was decent and followed the comic very well and even brought some much needed seriousness to what was at the time a T and A bad joke. The show didn’t have the gauntlet tear Sarah’s clothes apart and Butler actually looked like a NY cop pretty and bad ass. Not the porn star style body Sarah has in the comics.
Unfortunately the show was canceled and rumors are the star was drunk a lot on set. Look it up I’m not a gossip column.
Years went by and we never saw another version until 2006 Funimation the anime company teamed up with Top Cow to produce an anime show set in the future with a new bearer of the Witchblade. Masane Amaha is a single mother trying to survive in Neo Tokyo and has been chosen as the new bearer of the mystical gauntlet. She ends up working for the owner of the Dojo Group in Japan and has to put a stop to their hay wire Neo Genes cyborgs. Its boobs monsters and bloody good times. I mean LOTS OF BOOBS cleavage and no nudity BTW. Its anime what do you expect ART?? Wait ignore that last part some anime is Art.
This is a decent anime show even if its silly and filled with silly extra characters. The Witchblade feeds off Masane energy and she gets very aroused from killing to the point she is in ecstasy. Watch Frozen the anime show its very similar.
The show is on blu ray and DVD and worth picking up. Its filled with bonus material galore. Including interviews with people who worked on the comic book like Top Cow co creator Mark Silvestri.

R.I.P. Lou Scheimer (1929-2013)
Posted in Anime/Manga, Comedy, DC Comics, entertainment, ghosts, horror/sci-fi cartoon, Monsters, news, SciFi, tv on October 21, 2013 by chrisdsavI was very sad to hear this I watched a lot of this guys creations in the 80-‘s like He-man, She-ra, The Gouhligans, Ghostbusters, The Batman Superman Show, Fat Albert and soooo many more
As animation veteran Tom Sito wrote on Facebook today, “Scheimer never stopped being one of the guys. He was passionate about animation and his fellow artists. It actually pained him to lay people off. In 1982 when the Guild held a city-wide strike to try and prevent all our work outsourced overseas, Lou shouldered a sign and picketed his own studio, because he agreed that work should stay in town. Lou never reneged on his promise to keep as many people working as he could. It is reassuring in this world when you see the good guys can still win. Lou Scheimer was a good guy. And I shall miss him. So Long Lou Scheimer, you did well.”
