Sectaurs – Warriors of Symbion

Posted in 80s, horror, Monsters, Toys with tags , on January 29, 2018 by chrisdsav

Death and Taxes are the only two things in life that will always happen and if there was a third it be boys love bugs. I know my son owns Hermit Crabs ( I know ‘not a bug) and loves Insects. In 1985 I never had a chance to buy these guys and I was always in love with the toys.

The commercials had their own story that ran alongside the He-Man Power of the Sword Movie when it first premiered and I was more interested in Sectaurs than I was learning He-Man had a twin sister. In 1990 I discovered the comic book by Marvel inthe 25c bin of my local comic book store. but still never the toys. Now so many years later I have at long last discovered this amazing new kickstarter,  They are only producing the two main core figures for now but lets hope we may one day see the rest of these awesome toys return.

Sectaurs is making a comeback with an all new line of modern 1/18 scale action figures!

I am really broken up over this I cant even express how I feel

I have never had a guest on my show more often than I have Jack Ketchum since I started Radio of Horror back in 2007. Dallas to his friends.  I could call Dallas anytime and he would always call me back. We would chat on the phone for HOURS about movies. He gave me a letter of recommendation to a job I desperately wanted back 2011. Jack beat Cancer back in 2016, unfortunately it returned and has lost his battle, you will be missed Dallas.

Please check his site for update info on memorial services.

Slenderman A True Horror Story

Posted in death, horror, Monsters, news with tags , , on January 11, 2018 by chrisdsav

Living with Slenderman

By Kathleen Hale
Hale writes about the back story and update on the crime perpetrated by two young girls against their classmate 4 years ago. Thankfully the Payton Leutner recovered and is still alive today recently now a sophmore in high school.
The two classmates believed Slender Man (character created for a video game)  told them to do it. Geyser and Weier were both originally charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, which carries a possible sentence of up to 65 years in prison. Weier pleaded guilty to second-degree intentional homicide in a deal with prosecutors but claimed she was mentally ill during the attack and not responsible for her actions.
Its a great look at one of the most disturbing crimes involving a female minor.

Cinamon Hadley RIP

Posted in 80s, Comic Books, DC Comics, death, Geekbabes, Goth, news with tags , , , , on January 8, 2018 by chrisdsav

Cinamon Hadley, the inspiration for the character design of Neil Gaiman’s Death of The Endless featured in his Sandman comics, has passed away from a long battle with cancer on January 6th. I’m pretty sad by this as Death is one of the best characters to be created in comics and really helped me deal with some of my own personal problems.

Neil Gaiman on Death

“Death is the only major character whose visuals didn’t spring from me; that credit goes to Mike Dringenberg. In my original Sandman outline, I suggested Death look like rock star Nico in 1968, with the perfect cheekbones and perfect face she has on the cover of her Chelsea Girl album. But Mike Dringenberg had his own ideas, so he sent me a drawing based on a woman he knew named Cinamon Hadley — the drawing that was later printed in Sandman 11 — and I looked at it and had the immediate reaction of, “Wow. That’s really cool.”

She had been diagnosed with cancer of the colon, which went into remission but returned. The friends of designer Cinamon Hadley have been celebrating her life and mourning her passing.

A great review on such a goofy horror movie I had to share. Perfect for the weather we are having today in New England

Hey, everyone! Welcome to the 55th edition of my Bad Movie Tweet-A-Thon series. Once again I’m so very sorry for the lateness on this edition. I was hoping to have this one online late November as I was originally planned but since I was away over Christmas and New Year, I didn’t get a chance to […]

The X-Files Returns

Posted in aliens, entertainment, Monsters, news, tv with tags , , , on January 3, 2018 by chrisdsav

I’m so excited about the return of the X-Files it was one of the best shows of my youth and now it returns after a two year break from the 6 episodes s10 or refered to as the event series. This also marks the 25th Anniversary of the X-Files. This is also been confirmed and reconfirmed Gillian Anderson LAST time playing Dana. At New York Comic con it was something she confirmed and then again yesterday on TMZ. Chris Carter said there are more X-Files stories to tell and with maybe new characters. However with Disney now the owners of the X-FILES who knows what the future holds for the franchise. Maybe we will see Mulder and Skully teaming up with Buffy The Vampire Slayer or being hunted by The Predator. The stories are endless.

The X-Files premieres tonight on Fox.
