X-Files Season 10

The X-files one of the best damn shows on TV became last year a great comic book from IDW. It takes place after the events of the second movie and Mulder an Scully rejoin the FBI. Its a great set up with other great characters returning to help and cause problems. The Lone gunmen returned and actually teamed up with the Ghostbusters, The Crow and The Transformers, and TMNT other titles that IDW publishes. They also have been reissuing the old Topps Comics in the X-Files Classics books. VOl 4 is due out soon.  Walking Dead artist Charlie Adlard (issues 7-current) started out on this comic book, get a chance to see his art work on color. Jonathan Maberry creator of V wars and several other writers will be doing a tales of the X-Files book soon. A board game set during S1-3 will be out soon.

V Wars VWars05-cvrA

Speaking of V Wars based on his best selling prose novel series Jonathan Maberry has turned it into a hit comic book. Its a great visual to an awesome original Vampire story. A game is coming out from IDW as well in a few months. I just turned my short story into Jonathan for Vol 3 due out in Spring Summer 2015. The comic introduces the Blood Queen a leader to these Vampires. After a ice berg melts and unleashes a virus that turns people into non supernatural Vampires the V wars begin. 6 issues in and they took a break for a month and come back in Oct with the second story arc. Alternate covers to this book are by Kevin Eastman co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Godzilla

The King of the Monsters has a great line up of action comics out from IDW. How cool would it be to see Godzilla fight Omega Supreme from the Transformers or Devastaor, or TRYPTICON. ( Can’t tell I love Transformers can you?) This comic features all of his rouge gallery and a bunch of monsters he never fought in the movies, but had movies of their own from TOHO. How cool would it be to see Godzilla fight Gamera in a comic?

Ghostbusters

Here is the one horror related title I don’t pick up that often and only read the first few trade paperbacks. Currently the Ghostbusters are missing and Janeie the receptionist has assembled a new team of younger Ghostbusters to fill the guys …..uhhh proton pack. I like what I have seen so far and look forward to finally getting caught up.

IDW also published 30 Days of Night( the book that started them on a great path of becoming an amazing publisher. Transformers, My Little Pony!!!, Star Trek GI Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, (honestly my favorite comic form the company its that good.)  the Crow, and sooooo many others. They just ended Locke and Key which was massivly successful for the company. We gave away some X-Files goodies and Godzilla comics as well,  thanks to our contact NATE and we look forward to see what is coming next from IDW.

Creeping Crawling

What a creepy movie this is ewwwww bugs ugh

CREEPING CRAWLING is slithering to DVD & VOD October 7th

Creeping Crawling is the work of writer/director Jon Russell Cring’s CINEMA REBELLION along with writers Joshua Owens and Tracy Nichole Cring.

Displaying Creeping Crawling.jpg

You live with them, you feed them, you fear them. Creeping Crawling is an anthology featuring three tales of terror centered around things that go slither in the night.  Doug and Allison have a paper due and they’re hoping an eccentric entomologist will be the lynch pin to a passing grade.
They get more than they bargained for when Dr. Tarkovsky tells them the story of GRUBBERY and the lengths supermodel Denver will go to in order to keep her figure. Denver’s best friend Ginger introduces her to age old dieting wisdom as her boyfriend Rick witnesses her eaten away by her own vanity.
RID introduces Dori, a beautiful young girl who desperately needs money and poses as a nurse hired to take care of a comatose patient. While staying in the Gothic mansion, she begins to unravel as something feasts upon her while she sleeps.
Dr. Tarkovsky’s final cautionary tale centers around Bailey. In BUGGER, the lonely man navigates love online. He can’t seem to find a woman who shares his six legged obsessions. A co-worker has her doubts about his motives, as a serial killer is at large.

He was also in the Twilight Zone episode To Serve Man a famous episode that was a parody of the Simpson years later.

Supernatural Season 10

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , on September 10, 2014 by chrisdsav

We are weeks away from the return of the adventures of Sam and Dean WInchester. On Oct 7th. As well as Crowley and Castiel who have joined the cats this season. As we left the show Dean died and became a Demon, now what kind of demon he has become who knows. We have the 200 episode of the show coming up which is going to be a musical. Beyond that we don’t have many other details from season 10 most likely trying to keep the Demon Dean story line under wraps. I found out recently that Mark Shepard who plays Crowley will be at the RI Comic Con in November.

Season 9 just came on blu ray and dvd , contains a great detail view of the Men of Letters bunker going thru the various items in the bunker. This was introduced in Season 8 and acts like a new home for the boys after Bobbies place was destroyed by Dick Roman in Season 7.  My favorite episode of this season is Dog Dean Afternoon where Dean gets the ability to talk to dogs and other animals its hilarious, The one episode that a lot of people had problems with guest started Felica Day as the Lesbian Hack Geek Charlie, It had a Wizard of Oz elements to it and honestly was not that bad.

Below is a video showing the then and now of the whole show

Paranormal ……Stuff

Posted in Found Footage, ghosts, movies, news, Places, Satan, SciFi, tv on September 8, 2014 by chrisdsav

I am not sure if this is part of a series or what but we recently viewed this docucumentry film about a group of filmmakers who go to Clophill Bedfordshire and try to look into the story of the haunted run down church that was used to practice Black Masss, witch craft Satan worship and other things that go bump in the night, you know like that song with Ozzy Osbourne. From the people who made the Zombie Diaries (not to be confused with Diary of the Living Dead by George Romero) comes Paranormal Diaries: Clophill a movie made by a England Paranormal ghost hunter Kevin Gates. Now I assume this is going to be part of a series of films. These are real paranormal investigators so this movie is more document than horror movie scare fest with found footage lazy film making. The movie comes from Image Entertainment and Pam and I watched it last night. Now hot on the heels of the worn out franchise Paranormal Activity we get another of these paranormal films. Here is a link to some video footage of the supposed caught on camera ghost or lens flare.

http://www.bedfordshire-news.co.uk/VIDEOReal-ghost-caught-camera-Clophill-church-ruins/story-21723958-detail/story.html” title=”Clophill”>

It seems like the only two kinds of Horror movies, demon or ghost movies. This is all we have seen from the Horror genre besides remakes over the last few years, we get a LOT of direct to dvd movies which should be put in theaters NATION WIDE, like The Only Lovers left alive, Maniac(yes a remake but a remake BELOVED by people), Kiss of the Damned, In Fear, and more. For every film like Sinister or The Conjuring that does well you get another crappy Paranormal Activity movie or The Devil Inside or Devils Due. I am getting board with every to do with it.

The first guest I ever interviewed for Radio of Horror back in October 2007 at the Rock and Shock Convention was on the behest of my wife Steve from Ghost Hunsters and it was the most boring interview ever one line answers and very little to say about the show it self. It was recently announced he was returning to the show on syfy channel.

If your really into this genre of filmmaking and love the Ghost Hunter shows then check it out, if you pick it up expecting a horror movie based on the cover its not a horror movie.

Transylvania Trips, Comic Con, and Horror Directors.

Tonight on the show we have Charles Rosenay who I have had a tough time trying to get on my show but now with me planning a trip to ROMANIA to take the Dracula Tour NEXT October, I thought it be a good time to have the director of the trip on the show in time for Halloween. Then we have the head honcho and owner of Double Midnight Comics on the show with us. Then  Director Phillips Thomas of a small indie Horror movie from Anchor Bay on late to night talking about his movie Sanctuary, a rather grusome horror thriller. Pam and I will also discuss the up coming season of Supernatural and Sons of Anarchy and the new movie we just watched Paranormal Diaries: Clophill, from Image Entertainment.

Horror Movies for Kids

Posted in Cartoons, entertainment, Horror Babes, Monsters, movies on September 5, 2014 by chrisdsav

We did one of these last year of the year before. Now with Disney’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow on blu-ray and a new Scooby -doo animated movie and Halloween coming its time for another.

Legend of Sleepy Hollow is the short film that accompanies Mr. Toads Wild Ride, in the disk the Adventures of Ichabod and Mr.Toad. Ichabod’s tale is narrated by Bing Crosby(The other one is told by Basil Rathborne). Its done in that old style Disney animation. The cartoon is 30 mins long and the Headless Horse Man does not show up till the very end so you really look at it the whole time waiting for him and when he does its holding his pumpkin head and looks truly demonic. Its short sweet and to the point. But for the villain he has only five mins and people love t its so iconic.

Scooby-Doo Frankencreepy  SD

Velma inherits a castle in Pennsylvania and her and the Scooby gang head there to check it out thinking there may be the legendary monster. Lots of great connections to old Scooby-do cartoons. Spoiler the bad guys are all former Scooby Doo baddies, but I will let you see who for your self. The monster is a weird mish mash of creatures, so a very different Frankenstein creation. So don’t expect the green cartoon Karloff version. These Scooby-Doo movies started in 1998 with Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island. THE best is Zombie Island The Curse of the Witches Ghost is really good too, that brought on the Hex Girls a hot goth all girl rock band.  Also the hottest you will ever see Velma ever drawn, they drawn her in this skin tight curvey outfit that is soooo yummy.

Universal Studios Monsters

Posted in entertainment, Monsters, movies, news, SciFi, vampires, werewolves on September 3, 2014 by chrisdsav

These never get old well they get older with age I mean but you know what I am talking about. Today ALL of the UNIVERSAL MONSTER movies from the 30s-50s were released on blu-ray for the first time ever. Now a couple years ago we had the main films but this gives us all of them and if you are not a fan of the Wolf man or only want Dracula then you can pick up the individual sets that only contain those monsters you love. You also get the Abbot and Costello Movies, were Bud an Lou meet Frankensten and The Mummy and The Wolfman and Dracula, and the Invisible Man. FYI If you have never seen Bud and Lou horror comedies they are some of the best ever made.

A lot of the bonus material is carried over form previous releases and, the only one I picked up was the blu ray of The Creature from the Black Lagoon. I own the Legacy collections for Wolfman Dracula, Mummy and Frankenstein. If you don’t own these films and you call your self a hard core horror fan GO NOW BUY THEM STOP READING THIS AND GO ORDER THEM.

Movie Review: Innocence (2014)

Posted in Goth, Horror Babes, Monsters, vampires, witches on September 2, 2014 by chrisdsav

Pam Reviews this new kinda crappy kinda of ok witchy vampire movie

timewantsaskeleton

(No Spoilers)This movie, officially released on 9/5, is much better than I thought it would be.

I know that’s vague.

This is a film for the Twilight, Vampire Academy, Beautiful Creatures crowd. And it starts out similarly to many other YA novels and flicks with a Plain Jane (in this case the “Jane” is Beckett Warner played by the adorable Sophie Curtis), a family tragedy (fridged parents everywhere!) and a move. It’s even raining in the first scene -there was no way not to think of Forks!

As the movie progresses, Beckett remains reserved- logical for a teen who just experienced tragedy, but instead of being angsty and laying around in the grass; she makes friends with the snarky Jen (Sarah Sutherland, yes she is Kiefer’s daughter) and cute skater boy, Tobey (Graham Phillips). Beckett has friends! A girl who is a friend! She doesn’t just have haters…
