Hey Radio of Horror creeps! Jess-O-Lantern here! I want to take a moment to talk about a truly talented horror/FX make-up artist, and all around lovely lady, the terrifying Teri Griffin!

Teri is a certified professional Makeup/FX Artist. She received her Makeup Artistry Degree in 2005. She started her career working as a Prosthetic Makeup Artist for Universal Studios Orlando on events such as Halloween Horror Nights, Grinchmas, Mardi Gras, and more for 10 years. She has worked on full length feature films, short films, commercials, music videos, theater, and television. (Such as The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Access Hollywood, Crypt TV.) She also worked over 2 years with Ripleys Entertainment punching and venting hair as well as preparing and casting wax figures to be displayed in the Ripleys Museums all around the world. In 2013 Teri won Orlando’s  Makeup Artist of the Year for RAW’s Indie Arts. She was a part of the Halloween Extreme/Spooky Empire Horror Convention as a speaker for their seminar on “Airbrushing for Haunts” In addition to Makeup/FX, Teri has a degree in Art & Design and is a professional artist with an active Etsy page selling artwork at multiple conventions. As well as a prop maker who has worked for multiple prop shops such as Dapper Cadaver.

I had a few questions for Teri on her work, inspirations, and current/upcoming projects!

When did you know you had a passion for Horror?

“I knew since I was young and watching sci-if films with my father I had a passion for horror. Horror, Halloween, anything spooky always gave me an excitement that no other thing could. I was so intrigued by monsters and characters like Elvira and TV shows like The Munsters. I did all my school career projects on Hollywood & Horror when I could. I even remember a final where I included a scene from ‘Beetlejuice’ in my presentation. So, it has always been there.”

What inspired you to start doing Horror Make-up?

“Since elementary school I talked about moving to Hollywood and working in film and horror. I threw a huge Halloween party at my parents house in 2003 and I said to myself ‘I want this every day’, I wanted the things that are celebrated in October to be celebrated in my life 365 and I knew if I got into Horror Make-up and film and monsters, I could make that a reality. I wanted to mix my two favorite things, Horror/Halloween & Film-Horror. Make-up seemed like the perfect solution.”

Tell us about “Sea Griffin Creations & Productions”!

“In 2010 I met Carson Griffin, and we both shared a huge passion for film and horror. Late 2010 we began writing our first film “Zombeef.” After that we began working together doing everything from FX, blood, filming, art, editing, writing, and even stop motion.

We decided to create “Sea Griffin Creations and Productions” to showcase all of our projects. We have been working together now for 7 years and we are very proud of what we have accomplished and only plan to keep going and taking things further!”

What are your most recent projects?

“Right now we’re working on a few new short films that we’re writing and directing. We’re still working on the development of “The Real Ghoulwives of Los Angeles”

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE.

What better way to kick off the holiday today than looking at some pictures from the new Alien movie coming next year. It will have been five years since Prometheus was in theaters let’s see if the follow up will hold up. Thanks to So is it any good .com for the pictures.

well apparently fox brought a cease and desist notice against the site for the pictures posted. Don’t they want to help spread the good word of their movie rather than continue to tarnish their shitt reputation more and more. Guess not. Prometheus was a failure and they know it, they put Alien 2.5 on hold for no good reason.

I Am So Excited For Halloween!!

Halloween is such a magical holiday. You can dress up as anything you want. It gives you an excuse to binge watch your favourite horror movies. It’s the one night a year where you can quite literally take candy from strangers. It’s great.

All that being said, I think my absolute favourite thing about Halloween is the fact that even if someone isn’t a hardcore horror fan, they can still get into the spirit. They’ll still dress up, deck out their house, and hand out candy. It’s such a fun holiday that literally anybody can get into it regardless of their interests the other 364 days of the year.

Plus it’s always adorable to see the kids come up to your door! I can’t wait for that!

This Halloween I have some pretty fun plans! Saturday I’m going to a pals Halloween party, Sunday I’m gonna binge watch some horror movies then do Radio of Horror, and then on Halloween I’m staying home to hand out candy to kids! I’m so stoked.

What are your Halloween plans?? Are you taking your kids out? Going to a party? Rewatching American Horror Story? Be sure to let me know in the comments!
