Alien Dark Descent

Posted in aliens, horror, Video Games with tags , , , on June 24, 2023 by chrisdsav

New Alien game has arrived after Alien Fireteam left a lot of people buggy and Alien Isolation left people scared it was time for a new kind of Alien experience and t be honest the prologue for the game really gave me chills to my bones.

When you get to the main gist of the game you can still have a sense of eerie feeling but that can be over shadowed by a some times cluncky button system that feels like you fight the controls once in awhile more than the Xenomorphs.

One thing I liked was the real atmosphere and level of detail to the game for this turn based strategy rpg really immersed my feelings I was in this world from the movies.

If you want a more detailed look at the game development check out my interview with the developers I did at Pax East

Bayonetta 3

Posted in Video Games with tags , on October 29, 2022 by chrisdsav

At long last Bayonetta is back in the third game on the Nintendo Switch. Last we saw her was in the Smash Brothers game on the Wii U and Bayonetta 2 on the Wii U. Now the controversy round the original voice actress blew up the gaming community in a big bad way that it tore the tiny fan base this game has apart. Maybe things are not always clear and maybe things are a mess and But I digress. Jennifer Hale is fantastic as a voice actress and she really brings it in this game to sound like Bayonetta. I been a fan of this series since it was in XBOX 360. And I loved the anime movie too. The game is exactly the same as the last two games.

It’s about 8-10 hours of game play. Is that worth 62.00 with tax Idk. But I enjoy it and I don’t feel it’s our dated just a little better than the last game. Also new character Vola is really cool. A punk rock female side kick to our leading lady voiced by voice actress Bezzby. Check out her Twitter she is working with Trans Line a charity to help trans genders. let’s face it Bay is a sexy female badass like Laura Croft or Bloodrayne, Who don’t love a hot goth version of Sarah Palin. The names of the creatures are as ridiculous as ever but some come from real world lore or a mix of love and fiction. I do a podcast called Supernatural Creatures and Lore and it does a deep dive into what’s real about monsters on Supernatural the tv show.

Gomorrah being one of them, the Devourer of the Devine. Pick up the game now or wait for it on sale. I’d advise waiting unless your a die hard who needs it now.

Deaths Gambit After Life

Posted in Video Games with tags on March 16, 2022 by chrisdsav

Like a relationship you keep going back too no matter how toxic Deaths Gambit seems to be that way for me

Graphics are very much akin to Castlevania and Metroid and the crazy mao system as you find your way around is just as nuts.

Dying hurts and can be funny. When Death keeps bringing you back and making you feel like a bitch about doing it over and over again, you can understand why he makes so many jokes at your expense. If you missed it in 2018 like I did get this version on the Nintendo Switch today.

First up

Turrican Flashback

ININ Games will release on January 29th both the physical boxed and digitally eagerly anticipated and legendary Turrican collection – Turrican Flashback on Nintendo Switch and Sony PlayStation4.

Developed by legends in the video game industry and remastered by lifelong fans, Turrican’s long awaited return to the market is finally here with a prestigious and carefully selected collection of some of the most amazing titles. The endless exploration and challenge of the classic Turrican 1 & 2 explodes alongside the arcade perfection of Super Turrican and Mega Turrican in Turrican Flashback, bringing you 4 of action gaming’s finest examples of the genre.

Released originally on the classic home computer system, The Commodore Amiga, followed by sequels on Super Nintendo and Mega Drive, these remasters bring brand new elements to the tried and true formula offering both old and new fans something unique for this edition. Play tested and tailored by lifelong Turrican fans from across Europe, the new control scheme makes each Turrican game intuitive and easily accessible for all players as each button and command corresponds to action, and allows for even more precise shots and jumps than ever before.

For those who miss the scanlines and curvatures of retro monitors, Turrican Flashback is not just a travel through time in terms of the games, but even the presentation! Use one of the best CRT shaders in the industry and customize your display to bring the action as close to the way you remember it looking on your nostalgic monitor, or opt for the new dynamic pixel perfect display which allows you to minimize the on screen icons and focus entirely on the gorgeous in-game graphics which still stands the test of time!

Friday the 13th The Game Update

Posted in Friday the 13th, horror, news, Video Games with tags , , on July 17, 2018 by chrisdsav

Hey all!

Been a while since our last Kickstarter specific update; this one is for those of you who backed our game and included in their rewards the physical or digital versions of the Soundtrack CD and/or Artbook. Today we’re here to give you an update as to where we are with those items, both digital and physical.

Before we get into that, we do need to address the announcement of the cessation of all content creation for Friday the 13th: The Game. The team has made a statement that can be read here, on our website.

Unfortunate as it is, we remain committed to you, our backers with delivering promised rewards. The final pieces are so very close to being finished. We withheld these items back to include single player content as a means to ensure as much content was created would be added into the final products. Our team poured a lot of work and effort into music, kills, scenarios, art and everything else to give fans an authentic single player experience as Jason Voorhees, coupled with the Virtual Cabin 2.0 experience.

Today, we’re here to give you an update on when you should expect your rewards. The team at Gun Media, along with our partners working on art, music and single player content have finalized both rewards and are shipping them off to print and pressing. We even have some mock-ups for the final design of the artbook for you right here! Soundtrack artwork will be coming, presently.

To give you a rough estimate of size; the CD will include 2 discs full of music from the game composed and performed by the great Harry Manfredini, while the artbook is well over 100 pages of art, design, concept and screenshots.

What you’re probably asking is ‘when do I get my stuff?’

Artbook is the biggest time factor here; from shipping of the rough files to print with our physical partners. In total, we’re roughly estimating around 6 to 8 weeks total until these items are in your hands. This rough estimate includes time for us to proof the work and ensure it meets our standards for both the CD and the artbook. They will be shipped out at the same time.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ORDERED DIGITAL VERSIONS; we will be providing access via BackerKit as you’ve received from your other rewards via a link when you sign into your account. You will be able to access to your rewards when we begin to ship physical copies.

This has been a long process, and many of you have been waiting since 2015 when you first heard about these items to finally receive them. We’re happy to announce the wait is so very close to over, and our team is incredibly happy and thankful to you for not only your patience, but to finally deliver some incredibly cool rewards promised to you at the beginning of this project.

Our sincerest thanks!

-Gun Media

PS; Please ensure that your address is up to date. You can change via your Backerkit account! If you are having issues, please email the DEDICATED SUPPORT EMAIL at backers@fearthegun.com.
